I believe the best relationships start with candid conversations about shared challenges, so I frequently host dinners and other events that bring together founders navigating the US startup ecosystem with investors who are excited to back them. I work in AI, care deeply about what gets built and who builds it, and am always up for a good introduction.
Some connections that took on a life of their own
- A technical founder met a non-technical founder over Turkish flatbread. They became close friends — and he ended up automating one of her most tedious operations.
- Two hardware founders discovered a shared paranoia: splitting manufacturing across suppliers to prevent IP theft. One ended up introducing the other to a maker space.
- An investor and founder bonded over a shared love of fitness and weightlifting. The investor ended up writing a check as well as helping the founder with further introductions.
